Helen F. Starch

MADISON/LACROSSE - Helen F. Starch, age 89, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Darlington, Wis., on July 6, 1927 to Clayton and Dora Hinkel. She was united in married to Earl H. Starch on Oct. 18, 1946 in LaCrosse, Wis., and celebrated 57 years together until he passed in 2003. She is proceeded in death by her parents, siblings and her grandson, Brian Ketterer. Helen worked for Research Products for 25+ years. After her retirement Helen and Earl moved up to Chetek, Wis., and enjoyed living on the lake for a number of years. They then relocated to LaCrosse to be closer to family. After Earl passed away, Helen then moved back to Madison to be closer to her children. She is survived by her six children, Bill Starch (Jean Bakke), Nancy (Neil) Ketterer, Karen Rohner, Sandy Hanson, Ken Starch and Paul (Connie) Starch. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held at SHERMAN AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 3705 N. Sherman Ave., Madison on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery in LaCrosse, Wis.
