Gwendolyn Ramona Korban

JANESVILLE - Gwendolyn Ramona Korban, 94 years young, was born into eternal life on Oct. 1, 2011. Her parents, George and Florice Flint, lived in Stoughton, WI, at the time of her birth and later moved the family to Janesville, WI, where they raised 12 children. Gwen met the love of her life, Frank Korban, while he was driving taxi in Janesville. They were wed on June 6, 1942, and spent 31 years loving each other until he passed away in 1973. During their marriage, one of the things they shared was the love of square dancing. She made all of their clothes! Gwen was an avid crafter and could make just about anything. Hosting family gatherings in her backyard and helping those in need was what she was known for. She began her work history at J. M. Bostwicks as an elevator operator and a girdle fitter. She worked up until she was in her seventies, most recently for Stan Mulrooney as a bookkeeper and building manager. She is survived by brothers, George and Eugene (Sy) Flint of Footville; a sister, Jeannine (Jean) of Janesville; her best friend, Judy Jones of Janesville; special neighbors, Terri and Ron Pass; many nieces and nephews, friends, and in-laws. Predeceasing her were her parents; her husband, Frank; sisters: Marie Erdman, Doris Bushaw, Florine Jorgensen, and Ardis Cantwell; and brothers: Llewelyn Flint, Robert Flint, Louis Flint, and Jack Flint. The service to celebrate her life is Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at ALL FAITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1618 E. Racine St. in Janesville. Visitation is at 1 p.m., and the funeral begins at 2 p.m. Pastor Andy Stumbo will be presiding.
