Gwendolin A. Sorenson

COTTAGE GROVE/MADISON - Gwendolin A. Sorenson, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. Gwen was born in Madison on Nov. 11, 1923, the daughter of James and Jane (Lester) Glynn. She was married to William M. Wink Sorenson on Nov. 10, 1945. Together they had four children. She worked in the Dietary Department at UW Hospital for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, cards, the Game Show Network and shopping. Gwen is survived by her children, William (Sharon) Sorenson, Thomas (Julie) Sorenson, Janice (Terry) Havens and Nancy (Jerry) Gust; eight grandchildren, Tricia (Jim) Holland, Jodi (Chris) Lueder, Shane (Jodie) Sorenson, Martin Havens, Chad Havens, Chris Havens, Jerry Scott Gust, and Jason (Amanda) Gust; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley Sorenson, Colin, Taylor and Braeden Lueder, Hunter and Wyatt Sorenson, Savannah Philo, Martin Havens, Jr., and Riley and Gavin Gust; special friend, JoAnn McCluskey; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, George, James, Daniel, Donald, Harold and Jackie Glynn; and a grandson, William T. Sorenson. A memorial gathering will be held at WESTMINSTER APARTMENTS, (her home for many years), 6160 Dell Dr., Madison, beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015.
