FORT ATKINSON, WIS. – Gordon Pepin, 60, passed peacefully in his sleep the early morning of Feb. 10, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison, with his loving wife Joy at his side. Gordy had stage 4 cancer and congestive heart failure, which were only diagnosed in late January. Gordy graduated from East High School, attended Rock Valley College in Rockford, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Gordy was last employed by Enerpac of Milwaukee as a project engineer, and retired following an injury in 1988. Gordy was a member of Abate of Wisconsin, the Circle Sanctuary, and a respected elder of the Pagan Community. He had been an eco-warrior since the 1980’s. He was a loving husband, and the best friend anyone could ask for. Gordy is survived by his wife, Joy Hartje-Pepin; and his other brother, Kenneth Markee. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Lee and Maxine Pepin; a brother Randall; and his step-brother, Bradley Pepin. His kindness, generosity, humor and wit will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at MEMORIAL HALL 211 N. Main St., Rockford on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A second memorial service will be held at the AMERICAN LEGION HALL, 201 S. Water Street East, Fort Atkinson on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
