Gertrude "Trudy" I. Dyreson

DEERFIELD/MADISON Gertrude I. Trudy (Hoffer) Dyreson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 at the Agrace HospiceCare Center. She was born in Texas on May 12, 1933, the daughter of John and Maude (Reeves) Hoffer. Trudy graduated from Madison East High School and worked for many years as a social worker for Dane County. She was very active in various community organizations, including 4H, Deerfield Food Pantry and Community Center and Mad City Jesters. With the help of her husband Paul, Trudy always loved being Mr. & Mrs. Claus during the holiday season. She is survived by her children, Dan (Susan Young) Fillner, Terry (Dawn) Fillner, Judy Fillner and Kathy Dyreson; stepchildren, Randy (Judy) Dyreson, John (Shelly) Dyreson, Ann (Rick) Newell and Mike (Shelley) Dyreson; a son-in-law, Dan Gest; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jo Letlebo and Nancy Felskie; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Dyreson; a daughter, Sandy Fillner; step-daughter, Paulette Gest; and a sister, Fritzie Leighton. Funeral services will be held at DEERFIELD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 206 S. Main St., Deerfield at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015 with Pastor Larry Sexe officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
