George R. Woodington, Sr.

George R. Woodington, Sr., age 66 of Ojibwa, WI, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at his home. He was born May 18, 1941 in Winter, WI to Ralph and Ester (nee Werlein) Woodington. Until his retirement in 1997, George worked for the City of Eau Claire Parks Department for over 25 years. Some of his best times were maintaining the baseball field at Carson Park and watching his children play ball. George was a lifelong outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing, camping and other outdoor activities. His greatest passion was archery. He was a member of Eau Claire Archery Club, the Winter Archery Club, and the National Field Archery Assc. Survivors include four children: George, Jr. of Princeton, WI, Sue of Eau Claire, WI, Scott (Jill) of Glenwood City, WI & Bill (Jenn) of Milwaukee, WI; five grandchildren: Alysia, Mallory & Jake Nelson all of Eau Claire, WI, Amanda & Joshua Woodington of Glenwood City, WI; 11 brothers and sisters: Janet (Jeff) Kelsey, Owen (Dorothy) Woodington, Carol (Al) Johnson, Lucuille Stewart, Clara Woodington, Gerald Woodington, Kathy (Dick) Chester, Marjorie Woodington, Jimmy (Elaine) Woodington, Glen Woodington, and Mary Woodington. Further survived by other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and two nieces, Robin Kelsey and Julie DuCharme. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2007 at All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54703. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
