Gary Lee Demars

RIDGEWAY / MADISON - Gary Lee DeMars, age 69, of Ridgeway and formerly of Madison, died on Nov. 25, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born in Reedsburg, on Feb. 19, 1945, to Earl Louis and Elaine (Wilcox) DeMars. He graduated from Madison East High School, class of 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Beale DD 471 as a sonar technician during the Vietnam War. Gary was a 30-year member of the Madison Fire Department. He was an avid Harley rider. He stayed in touch with many old friends: Denny, Brian, David, John, Donny and Jimmy. He is survived by his mother, Elaine of Baraboo; brothers, Steven of Marengo, Ill., Scott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Todd (Cheryl) of McFarland; a sister, Jeanne of Daytona Beach Shores, Fla.; niece, Jennifer; and nephews, Cash and Aron. He was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl. Private family services will be held at a later date.
