AVALON - Gabriel McKerrow George was born in December of 2016 in Racine, Wis. He lived in Avalon, Wis., where he passed away on March 6, 2025, at 8 years old, due to a sudden seizure. Gabriel was home-schooled and was in 1st grade.
Gabriel is survived by his parents, Cedale and Ashley George; and three siblings, Uriel (6), Loreleigh (4), and Zekkiel George (2); Grandma Vera Jenkins; Grandpa Abe and his wife, JoAnn George of Chicago; his aunt, Corine George, and her five kids, Aviance, Vyshari, Vybrance, Zacharyi and Zyion of Racine; his aunt, Shaneka George, and her five kids, DJ, Juneau (Shaneya), Timothy, Starla, and Adonis of Chicago; and his uncle, Nate George of Racine. Also, his three great-aunts, April and Cheryle both of Chicago, Vanessa Jenkins and her five kids, Charles, Chantal, Darrel, Ronnie and Destiny (Ariel) Christmas of Chicago and Minneapolis; his great-uncle, Leslie and Deborah Jones, and their four kids Khrissa, Tiffany, Chantel, and Jasmine Jones; Uncle William “Will” McKerrow, and his kids, Faye and Adien McKerrow; along with his cousin, Dresden. The children’s mother, Dawn; his uncle, Brandon “Bam Bam” McKerrow is currently serving in the U.S. Navy as a E-6; also, his great-aunt, Gail, Aunt Debbie, and great uncles, Gavien, Greg, and great-uncle Bill.
Gabriel was full of love, life, and energy. He was loved by many. He was often referred by various nick names such as “Chicken”, do to his ultrasound looking like a chicken wing waving, “Baby G” or “GG”. “GG” had many likes and interest including Bible shows and songs, cooking, helping his family, shepherding his younger brothers and sister, toys (blocks, balls, and hot wheel cars), playing video games with siblings, writing and drawing; but his greatest love was outside running with his family and his three dogs. Gabriel is now remembered as a Shepard and a messenger of the Lord.
He is preceded in death by Grandpa Bill McKerrow and GIGI (Karen Volkmer) and great Uncels Bruce and Brian McKerrow.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1618 E. Racine St., Janesville. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Lisbon Central Cemetery, Sussex.
