Marshall- Evelyn Marlene Otis, age 68, of Marshall passed away at home on Friday, March 30, 2012. Evelyn was born September 21, 1943 in Fort Dodge IA to Clifford and Helen (Kiefer) Otis. The family returned to Wisconsin in 1948 eventually moving to Madison. She attended East High School. Her marriage to John Flahavan in 1961 produced three sons. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with family always coming first. Evelyn and the boys returned to Wisconsin in 1973 where she obtained work at the Marshall School District. She also worked at General Telephone in Sun Prairie. In 1976 she married Patrick Meylor. Together they owned and operated two taverns, the Country Crossroads in North Bristol and Just Rumors in Madison. Evelyn sold her tavern in 2003 and took a job at DeJope Bingo Hall. She enjoyed her home, working in the yard and having a good time with family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Todd (Marie Fleury) and Troy (Cindy) Flahavan; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Jean) Otis of Windsor NY; sister-in-law Roberta Otis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by a son Jay Robert Flahavan, her parents, and two brothers Clifford and Ronald Otis. Per her wishes there will be no funeral service. She will be laid to rest amid her family at Forrest Hill Cemetery. The family extends their thanks for the loving and tender care provided by staff of Agrace Hospice.
