Evelyn M. Corbin

DEFOREST - Evelyn M. Evie Corbin, age 63, of DeForest, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 12, 1953 in Portage, Wis., to Edgar and Ramona Black. She married Steve Corbin on Sept. 26, 1998, in Madison. Wis. Evie graduated from Portage Senior High School and attended the University of Baraboo for two years. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens, crafts, and reading. But truly, she loved her family, friends, and her dog, Glory. She served three terms as president of VFW Auxiliary 8483. Evie is survived, and will be greatly missed by, the love of her life - husband, Steve Corbin; daughters, Megan (Jody) Middlestead and Beth (Sean) Anders; son Ben, (Shannon) Prosch; stepsons, Phil (Erin) Corbin, Steve Corbin Jr., and Tyler Corbin; stepdaughter Ashley (Terry) Corbin; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Jameson, Olivia, Jonny, Charlene, Josh, Sadie, Alana, Teyara, Zionna, Terry Jr., Giana, Brielle, and Evelyn Rose; and sisters, Carolyn MCartney, Kim Mertes, Tana Baldwin. Evie is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Ramona Black; brothers, Zane and Harold Black; and her wonderful stepmother, Marie Schwanengel. Evie will be cremated and laid to rest privately by her family. A memorial service will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. A pass in review by VFW Auxiliary 8483 will begin at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to thank the caring staff at St. Marys Hospital, Turville Bay, the Dean Oncology Department, and Agrace HospiceCare social worker, Kristin, and nurse, Marie who quickly became so much more than her nurse. One of our last human freedoms is to choose ones own way.I chose to float free of time, worries, and pain.
