Ethel M. Brophy

MADISON - Ethel M. Brophy passed away peacefully on July 16, 2008 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late James A. Brophy. Cherished Mom of Kay Felt (deceased), Tom (Suzy) Brophy, Richard (Nancy) Brophy and Lynn (Terry) Chitwood. Loving Grandmother of Jeff (Ann) Felt, Steve (Sena) Felt, Jennifer (Rodney) Cook, Chris (Lisa) Brophy, Erin (Matt) Frederick, Jason (Heather) Chitwood, Brian (Emily) Brophy, Michael Brophy and eight great grandchildren. She will be missed by her faithful canine companions Gus and Tucker. Ethel was preceded in death by brothers Richard Amsrud, Milton Amsrud (wife Jane survives) and Helen (Peter) Ringgenburg. The family wishes to thank Lynn and Terry Chitwood for their unwavering love and supportive care of Mom. Thanks to HospiceCare, Inc., Westside Team, for their excellent service in assisting Mom and her family, also to Dr. Sorber for many years of exceptional care. No memorial service is planned per Ethel's wishes. Donations to HospiceCare, Inc. of Madison would be appreciated. Mom lived a simple and dignified life, always caring for her family and friends. She demanded nothing and gave everything. She will be forever missed.
