Ethel Lenora Ledding

MADISON – Ethel Lenora Ledding was born the first of four girls to Arthur and Myrtle (Carlson) Loften on August 16, 1935 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and passed on October 18, 2013 in Madison, Wis. After marrying the love of her life, Harlan Ledding in 1954, they moved to Madison to find employment rather than stay on the Ledding Family Farm. They divorced in 1987. Our graceful, loving, beautiful mother, loved her flower and vegetable gardens, putting up the bounty for her large family for the winter months. She sewed for her home and family, learning upholstery to update otherwise fine furniture. Mom loved to travel and didn’t hesitate to visit her kids anywhere they lived, from California to overseas. Cruising was a favorite and her interest in genealogy took her to Norway and Sweden with her daughter, Karen. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved to dance the night away with Harlan. Ethel is survived by her former husband, Harlan; sons, Brian, Erik and Steve (Amy); daughters, Brenda Hetzel, Candy (Tom) Silber and Karen (friend, John Burgar); along with 10 grandchildren, Brian, Jr., Nick and Alexander Ledding, Heather Minges, Jason (Sarah) Behnke, Shawn (Sheena) Behnke, Kira Hankins, Layne, Isla and Easton Ledding; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna (David) Johnson, Margaret (Larry) Soliah and Marian Fronning, all of Fergus Falls, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandchild, Reed Ledding. Thank you to all those who helped Mom through her illness. There will be a Celebration of Life at OLBRICH GARDENS in the ATRIUM ROOM, 3330 Atwood Ave., Madison on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
