Esther B. Rutherford

Janesville, WI – Esther B. Rutherford, age 81, passed away on Thursday, June 03, 2021, at Mercyhealth Hospital & Trauma Center in Janesville. She was born in Endeavor, Wisconsin on March 23, 1940, the daughter of Max and Alice (Atkins) Cummings. Esther was originally from the Westfield area but lived between Wisconsin and Arizona. She was from a large family and she knew many people; all of whom loved her. She was a wonderful and special mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Esther will be long remembered and greatly missed.  Esther is survived by her children: John Rutherford of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Linda (Paul) Burnett of Mesa, Arizona, Steven (Nicole) Rutherford of Germany, and Joseph Rutherford of McHenry, Illinois.  As well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Rutherford Sr. and Casimer Kotwasinski; her parents Max and Alice; and her brothers and sisters, Robert (Barbara) Cummings, John R. (Jeanne) Cummings, Ethelyn (Walter) Wilson and Cora Mae (Robert) Wampler. A Celebration of Esther’s life will be held at a later date.
