Elnora E. Wood

MADISON - Elnora Elizabeth Wood passed away at age 87 on May 10, 2014. She was born on August 14, 1926 to Joseph and Elizabeth Svetnicka in Boscobel, Wis. She graduated from Madison Central High School in 1944 before going on to work for American Family until her retirement. Her passions were Badger athletics, fishing, gardening, baking, and her family. She was a long-time member of the READI volunteer group and enjoyed helping the community. Elnora is survived by her daughter, Kathy Cole and her family; son, Dr. Terry Wood of Arizona and his family; a sister, Betty (Jack) Heibel and their family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Wood in 2007; her parents, and many siblings and other relatives. Per Elnora's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elnora's memory may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Place, St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Stuart Turner of Dean Health, and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care.
