Elizabeth G. Varner

STOUGHTON Elizabeth G. Varner, age 86, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Stoughton Hospital. She was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Chicago, the daughter of Lawrence and Annabelle (Gordon) Mosier. At age 6, Elizabeth moved in with her aunt and uncle, Fred and Jennie Callaghan. She married Eugene Varner, in Chicago, on March 8, 1941. Together they lived in Chicago, Presque Isle, Wis., Milton and finally Stoughton. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene; four children, George (Holly) Mosier of Verona, Pa., Barbara (Larry) Boyer of Abingdon, Ill., John (Therese Tunger) Varner of Grandmarsh and James (Karen) Varner of Oak Park, Ill.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at SKAALEN SUNSET HOME, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Koza officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Skaalen Sunset Home.
