Eleanor Jordan

Madison - Eleanor Jordan, age 76, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Sylvan Crossings, Waunakee. She was born January 25, 1931 in IL the daughter of George and Estelle (Klamowski) Jordan. Eleanor worked for Acme Steel until she retired at age 47. After retiring she traveled the world, also acquiring her pilot’s license. Eleanor was an avid reader and photographer. She also loved the outdoors including hiking, biking, bird watching and gardening. One of her many projects was cataloging the wildflowers at the Indiana Dunes State Park. Eleanor loved cats and was a strong supporter of the Independent Cat Society, where she regularly visited, and took bunches of catnip for the cats. Eleanor was very politically active, and will be remembered as a strong independent woman. Eleanor is survived by one brother George (Mildred) Jordan of Madison, WI; her nieces Deborah Jordan ( Jeanne Witte), of Madison, WI; Diana (Jeff) Kerr, of Lino Lakes, MN; Donna (Ralph) Kennedy, of Madison, WI; two grand nieces, Hannah and Kristina Kennedy at home. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial is being planned. Memorial may go to the Independent Cat Society.
