Elaine Margaret Robinson

Elaine Margaret Robinson (Smith) passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Jan. 20, 2020, at the age of 86. She was born Dec. 11, 1933 and was married to Harry K. Robinson for 52 years. Elaine was involved in Girl Scouting for 50+ years and Adult Girl Scouts, meeting with her beloved GS friends each year until 2018. She loved camping, making crafts, and spending time with her daughters. She received a college degree later in life and worked for the Counseling Center of Milwaukee. Elaine's sense of community and decency are reflected in her many volunteer activities, including the facilitation support groups for gay and lesbians, starting a PLAG group in Milwaukee, volunteering for many years at Pathfinders for Runaways, marching in Take back the night rallies, involvement in recovery programs. She supported her daughters to the fullest in positive ways throughout their lives. Along with daughter, Colleen and daughter outlaw, Lance, she helped feed homeless and found things to help fill their needs in Madison. She participated in her assisted living facility in the making of care packages for roofless families. She will always be the best Mama and wife there ever was, and her spirit and values will live on forever in the hearts and actions of her family members. Elaine is survived by daughters, Colleen Robinson (spouse, Kip Parker) and Robin Robinson (husband, Daniel Harris); daughter outlaw, Lance Link; favorite card playing partner and supporter, David Harris; brother-in-law, Dr. James Robinson (Pat); nephew and niece, Dr. James Robinson, lll (Kate and family) and Becka Robinson; grandchildren, David (Kelly) Long,  Lafaya (Chris) Chandler, and Robert Harris; niece, Cathy Kluge and nephew, Robbie Kluge; niece, Holly (Chuck) Basting and nephew, Barry Bush; her Foster family,  the Alwins, Gabrielle, Penelope, Pamela, Deb, Lance, Jill, Sean, and Jeanine Davis; best friend, Phyliss (Art) Gemer; good friends, Kathy Bowman and Deb Jacobsen; and many more of her beloved Girl scouts in Milwaukee. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Robinson, Sr.; son, Harry Robinson, Jr.; mother, Meta Smith; sister, Carol Kluge; brother, Robert Smith (Bobby), Joanne and Wally, April, Scott, Craig, and Brent Alwin. We would like to thank Dr. Amy Groff; hospice nurse, Elena; and other hospice workers; as well as activities director, Theresa; and Stoughton Meadows Assisted Living. You know who the great ones are. We sure do!
