Edward Allen Sickenberger

MADISON - Edward Allen Sickenberger, age 73, of Madison, WI, passed away at Faith Living Assisted Living in Sun Prairie, on March 12, 2016. He was born on March 25, 1942, the second child of Karl Adam and Margaret J. (Thompson) Sickenberger. Raised in Wisconsin Dells, he was baptized and confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran faith. He graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1960, moved to Madison, and married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Jill Bates. Together they had two children, Edward Gary (Betty) and Laura Jane (Tony Toro) both of Tucson, Ariz. They were married for 10 years. He later married Judith Chwala. His step-children from that union were Shannon, Katrina and Suzanne. He worked at Oscar Mayer for 30 years. He is survived by his current wife of 25 years, Mary (Frisch); his children, Edward G. Jennings and Laura J. Jennings-Toro; two brothers Dean Sickenberger of Woodruf, Wis. and Martin (Barbara) Sickenberger of Poynette, Wis.; a sister, Karla (Robert) Johnson of Madison; his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, James (Diane) Frisch of Eagle, Wis.; sisters-in-law Janette Alf of Beloit and Bernice of Madison; and a dear and valued family friend of 25 years, Eunice Voss. Edward was known for his mischievous blue eyes, his Cheshire cat grin, his tall tales, his kind and generous nature and his passion for hunting and fishing. As we mourn his passing, we are reminded of Gods Grace, His gift of Eternal Life, of Peace and Renewal. Gone to his Eternal home, Edward will be reunited with those who have gone before him: parents, Karl and Margaret; brothers, Karl and Gary; step-daughter, Shannon; and sister-in-law, Jeaneen (Blomberg) Sickenberger. We thank Heartland Hospice for the dedication to Edwards comfort care in the days after his accident. We are forever grateful.
