MADISON – Edna O. Hanson, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Sun Prairie Health Care Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1919 in Jackson County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Benson) Olson. She married Emery Hanson on August 28, 1942. She was a crossing guard for Madison School District prior to working at Central Wisconsin Center for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was instrumental in starting the church’s Home Bound Communion Program. Edna also participated in Keenagers. Her grandsons were her greatest joy. Edna is survived by a son, Len (Connie) Hanson, of Sun Prairie; grandsons, Bret (Becky) Hanson, of McFarland, Mark Hanson, of Milwaukee, and David Hanson, of Phoenix, AZ; a great granddaughter, Lindsey Hanson, of McFarland. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 4, 2000, her parents, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago Street, on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Ruppenthal officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Monona. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
