MADISON - On Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, Dustin Dean Dilks, age 27, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a tragic accident. Private services for family will be held. A celebration of life for those who were touched and loved by Dustin will be held at THE FLYING HOUND ALEHOUSE, 6317 McKee Rd., Fitchburg, on Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dustin was the assistant manager at the Flying Hound in Fitchburg, Wis. He enjoyed watching sports, participating in fantasy leagues and music - particularly having the opportunity to attend the Bonaroo Music Festival. In his free time he also enjoyed family game nights and going to movies with friends. Last but certainly not least, Dustin loved spending time with and playing video games with Shane. They grew up as brothers but as adults became best friends. Dustin endured a very heartbreaking and tragic event early in his life. His parents unexpectedly passed away when he was 14 years old. As a result, he gained a second mother, two sisters, three nephews, and a niece. He is survived by his second mother and aunt, Debbie Lovelace of Madison; sister/cousin, Brenda (Sam) Roessler of Middleton, sister/cousin, Christina (Phil DeVillers) Bishop of Monona; uncle, William "Bryan" (Kay) Dilks of Des Moines, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Ramona Dilks of Des Moines, Iowa; maternal grandfather, Duane "Jeep" (Pam) Ginder of Concord, North Carolina; maternal aunt, Mary DeJoode of Des Moines, Iowa; nephews/cousins, Shane Bishop, Kaleb Roessler and Owen DeVillers; niece/cousin, Savannah Roessler; lifelong friends Corey (Sydney) Pierce of Waukee, Iowa, Ashley (Casey) Randal of Ankeny, Iowa; Mike Grob and family of Middleton, and Jameson Menz of Middleton. As well as numerous extended family members and friends. Dustin is preceded in death by his father, Terry D. Dilks; mother, Lisa A. Dilks; maternal grandmother, Aleta M. "Nicki" Ginder; paternal grandfather, Jerry D. Dilks; paternal great-grandmother, Olga M. Reitz; great-uncles, Roy Mendenhall and Jerry J. Woolhiser; and great-aunt, Kay F. Grassau. Dustin's kind, generous and witty spirit was loved by many and will forever be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Dustin Dilks Memorial Fund c/o Summit Credit Union.
