Dr. Paul Warren Emerson

POYNETTE – Dr. Paul Warren Emerson, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007 at Good Samaritan Center in Lodi. Paul was born March 10, 1918 in Sun Prairie, the son of Dr. Warren E. and Evelyn (Twiton) Emerson. On Aug. 19, 1940, he was united in marriage to Shirley A. Johnson. He worked at the Bank of Poynette until he entered service and was stationed in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands with the Army Finance Division. Paul graduated from the National College of Chiropractic and practiced in Reedsburg for 30 years in the profession he dearly loved. After retirement, he returned to Poynette and spent his time there and at their cottage on Bearskull Lake. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley, and together they raised four children, Steven (Anneliese) Emerson, Timothy (Susan) Emerson, Claudia (Thomas) Bill, and Noel (Julie) Emerson; 13 grandchildren, Nathaniel (friend, Tina) Emerson, Stuart (Kristine) Emerson, Gabriel (friend, Debra) Emerson, Gregory Emerson, Heidi (Scott) Swanson, Kimberly (Robert) Kelling, Jennifer (Chris) Lund, Angela (Rob) Sowden, Thomas Emerson Bill, Hannah (friend, Ryan) Emerson, Hailey Emerson, and Lauren White; 4 great grandchildren, Carl and Van Lund, and Madelyn and Noelle Sowden. He is further survived by brother and sister-in-laws, Robert and Mary Jayne Pafford, Wm. McLeish, Sr., Eugene McKeague, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marion McLeish and a sister-in-law Ruthe McKeague. A memorial service will be held at the DEKORRA LUTHERAN CHURCH, Dekorra, Wis. on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Odden officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
