MADISON – Dr. James C. Allen, age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at his home in Madison. He was born July 25, 1928 in Janesville, the son of James and Lillian (Colton) Allen. Following his service in the U.S. Army Signal Corp from 1952 – 1954, he graduated from Marquette University Medical School in 1959. He spent his career at the University of Wisconsin Department of Ophthalmology and the Veterans Administration Hospital. He is survived by his wife Kathryn; sons, John and David; a sister, Jean Combs of Beloit, WI; and four nephews, Michael, Mark, John and Thomas Combs, all of Beloit. At his request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to: University of Wisconsin Foundation, 1848 University Ave., Madison, WI 53791, for the James C. Allen Ophthalmology Library Fund; Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, P.O.
