Doug Black, 77, of Fort Atkinson, WI, formerly of Janesville, WI , tragically passed away from injuries resulting from a chainsaw accident on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Doug was born on May 9, 1940, in Milton Junction, WI, to Floyd and Violet (Campbell) Black and was married to LaNetta (Porter) Black on August 1, 1969. Doug was a spirited man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. His extensive array of knowledge was a great resource to many. His love of talking welcomed a variety of strangers to listen to his amazing stories. He loved life and trains as well as people and greatly enjoyed capturing those moments with a photo, which was his deep passion. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, LaNetta Black, and brother, Lyle Black. Doug is survived by his children, Daniel (Diane) Tucker, Laura (Lee) Garber, Amy Hubbard, Audra Buggs, LaNaia (Gary) Holly, Amanda (Martin) Walter, Adam (Christine) Black, along with many grandkids, great grandkids, cousins and many friends. The family would like to send out a special Thank You to Dr. MacNeal (MD1), the Emergency Room Trauma Team and the ICU Care Team at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center of Janesville, and to Rock County Deputy Raby for his quick assessment and emergency medical services provided at the scene as well as Tim Piper for his quick actions. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday November 25, 2017, at 11 am at the First Baptist Church located at 3414 Woodhall Drive in Janesville, WI 53545.
