Douglas A. Lang

SUN PRAIRIE – Douglas A. Lang, age 78 of Sun Prairie, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born Dec. 10, 1928 in Milwaukee, the son of Arnold and Mildred (James) Lang. Doug graduated from West Allis Central High School. He later served in the U.S. Army in Alaska . He married Patt Erdmann on Sept. 5, 1953 at St. Rita’s Church in West Allis. Doug traveled the country working for Automatic Electric Company, and later worked for GTE, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Sun Prairie. Doug loved fishing, golfing, playing cards, swimming, and especially spending time with his family. Doug is survived by his wife Patt; six children, Diane (Tom) Pinnow, of Jefferson, Catherine (Patrick) McCormick, Spanaway, Wash., Jodie (Tom) Grebe, of Madison, Paul (Cheryl) Lang, of Keller, Texas, Steve (Cathy) Lang, of LaGrange, Kent., Jeff Lang, of Sun Prairie; 13 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a brother Russell (Chris) Lang, of Seymour, Conn; a step-sister, Barbara (James) Chesky, of Salisbury, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Ann Lang, of Poquoson, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Larry. A memorial mass will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie, on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private burial will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Lung Society or Sacred Hearts School Endowment Fund.
