Dorothy M. Bradley

MADISON - After a long, wonderful life well lived, Dorothy Bradley passed away at Oak Park Place on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at age 92. She was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., on Sept. 5, 1923, to Roy and Mary (Yager) Regner. Her mother passed away when she was very young and she lived with her maternal grandmother until she was 13. She was then placed in a series of temporary homes until Clarence and Margaret LeBard welcomed her into their loving family while she attended Madison Central High School. She married Robert Bradley on Dec. 17, 1942, and they had four children. Robert passed away on Oct. 13, 1998. During World War II, while her husband was serving our country in the Philippines, Dorothy worked for Rayovac. Over the years she also worked for Rhode's Steak House, The Edgewater and retired from Meriter Health Center. At that time she moved to Colorado to be near her son and oldest daughter. She returned to Madison in 2004 and lived on her own until an illness forced her to move to Oak Park Place in 2012. Dorothy was a warm, caring and wonderful woman with twinkling blue eyes who loved to travel and was always up for anything. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed. She is survived by her four children, Cheryl (Bob) Klein, Betty (Dennis) Lythjohan, Patricia (Ken Cavanaugh) Bradley, and Tim Bradley. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren, Chris Klein, Kim Klein Murphey, Kelly and Lindy Lythjohan, Timmy and Joey Bradley; and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at OAK PARK PLACE in the Grandview Hall at 718 Jupiter St., Madison, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a short service starting at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. David Brynelson from Heartland Hospice officiating. All are welcome. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Oak Park and Heartland Hospice for their loving and attentive care of mom.
