DEFOREST - Dolores Ramona (Vogel) Warnke moved on to her next life on Nov. 9, 2016. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Monique Warnke of Wisconsin and Astrid Hunton of Florida; her granddaughter, Teya Hetherington; sons-in-law, Grant Hetherington and Ross Hunton. Her brother, Gerhard, preceded her in death in 1995. Her nephew, Stephen Vogel, resides in Alberta. Her half-brother, Frank Vogel, niece and nephew, Iris and Sasha, live in Berlin, Germany. She has many cherished nieces and nephews scattered across the country. Dolores, aka Glamourina, will be remembered for her odd sense of humor, her directness, the quirky people she always collected and her deep love of family and friends. She often didnt openly express her love but she showed it in many other ways. Dolores was born in Holland in 1932, moved to Germany in 1933 and resided there until 1953. She boarded a boat in Bremerhaven, Germany to Canada as an indentured servant and spent six years working and traveling across Canada. She married Fritz Warnke in 1958 and divorced in 1976. She earned her citizenship in 1975 and never missed a chance to vote. She graduated from MATC in 1976 with an Associate degree in Liberal Studies and graduated in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. A celebration of her life and spirit will be held in the future with the location to be determined. In remembrance of Dolores, plant flowers in your gardens, donate to a local animal shelter or womens shelter, donate to Heartland Hospice or help someone less fortunate and think about Dolores.
