MADISON – Dennis Lee Domenget, age 71 of Madison, passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010. He was born Feb. 26, 1939 in Fond du Lac, the youngest of eight children to Jim and Gladys (Nelson) Domenget. Following high school, Denny enlisted in the Army Reserve, serving in the Red Arrow Infantry Division, which was activated several times. Denny and his sister, Jeannette owned and operated the Pizza Oven on Monona Drive and Sherman Ave. for a number of years. Denny later retired after 28 years of service to the Madison School District as a head custodian. Dennis married Virginia L. Bingham in 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, and together they lived on Madison’s north side. Denny loved to play and create all sorts of games, especially with his children and grandchildren. He was such a creative writer and storyteller, always entertaining the younger generation. He will be remembered as “Grampion the Champion” who will never ever lose. Denny is survived by his wife, Virginia; three children, Susan (Harry) Link, of West Bend, Steve (Yuling) Bruns, of McHenry, Ill., Michelle (Robert) Morey, of Iowa City, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Holly, Brian and Megan Link, Jim Bruns, Peter and Henry Mosher, and Elsa Morey; great-grandchild, Faye Taitingfong; a brother, Richard (Judy) Domenget, and a sister, Jeannette Domenget, all of McFarland; and many nieces, nephews, neighbors and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1904 Winnebago St., Madison on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jeff Tomberlin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
