Delores Elaine Smith

MONONA Delores E. Smith, age 90, passed away at Oakwood East Rehab Center on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Delores was born Oct. 28, 1924, to Louis and Gladys Larson. She was married to George P. Smith until he passed in 1982. She was also preceded in death by sons, Terry and Bill. Delores loved to spend time outdoors, particularly in the garden and bird watching. She also loved lapidary, baking and spending time with family and friends. Delores thoroughly enjoyed the simplistic beauty of the sun rising and setting. Delores is survived by daughters, Suzanne Smith and Cathy (Dave) Potter; son, Michael (Bev Samuel-Smith); grandchildren, Sharol Persike, Dan Smith, Lisa (Nate) Waldsmith, Erik (Stef) Hutchins, Katie (Adam) Philips, Melissa (Abe) Meinke, Donnie (Becky) Samuel, Amber (Peter) Smith and Nicole Samuel; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A Celebration of Life Party is being held at BOURBON STREET GRILLE, 6312 Metropolitan Ln., Monona, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. with a service starting at noon.
