Delores Demanouske

August 7, 1929 — February 22, 2019

BELOIT - Delores (nee Murray) Demanouske, 89, of Beloit, passed away on Friday, February 22, 2019 at UW Hospital, Madison. She was born August 7, 1929 in Beloit, the youngest child of Joseph and Gertrude (Stoltz) Murray. Delores was a 1948 graduate of Beloit High School. Delores was employed by Fairbanks Morse-Colt Industries as a janitor and a coil assembler. She retired from there in 1996 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Prior to that she had worked at Yates American in the office, the Bell Telephone Company as an operator, and did all jobs at both the Rex and Ellis Movie Theatres. Delores was a member of the New Apostolic Church of Beloit where she had taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and made visits to the seniors when they were ill or for their birthday. She liked to be busy and to talk with people. She happily volunteered with her daughter at BMHS and was a “Grand Reader” at Converse Elementary School, while her granddaughter attended and after; helping many students improve in their reading. The gift shop at the Angel Museum was another place that Delores volunteered and where she enjoyed the people she met from around the world as they shared their stories and shopped. She also helped with food distribution, served Thanksgiving dinners, and made sandwiches for the Summer Lunch Program at the Salvation Army. Delores enjoyed being with her family, supporting her children and their friends, cheering her granddaughter on in her many sports, and loving her many canine companions throughout the years. Watching the flowers that she planted grow brought her happiness; keeping her fingers nimble by crocheting and knitting items for friends and family gave her much pleasure; but preparing as well as going to rummage sales was one of her biggest joys! Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Don) Kinzer of Beloit; son, Herb Murray of Nashotah, WI; granddaughter, Kristin “Sammi” (Chad) Linder of Madison; sister, Mildred Hill of Beloit, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Orville “Jack” Murray, sisters: Lorraine Tompkins, Carol Miller, Geraldine Bolen, Ivadine Morse and niece, Sandra Johnson. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 30 at 11 am at the New Apostolic Church, 516 West Grand Avenue, Beloit. Visitation will be at 9 am until time of service.
