COTTAGE GROVE - David W. Alber, age 58, passed away from a sudden heart attack on May 8, 2011. Dave will forever be remembered as a talented and life-long hunter and a highly skilled outdoorsman who had a deep appreciation and understanding of nature. He lived for the challenge of the adventure and was immediate in sharing his knowledge so others might enjoy what he did. He also enjoyed sports, playing softball and spending time with his three wonderful children. Dave was caring, generous, strong and proud of his heritage and convictions. He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Feiner; son Gregory; and daughters, Jacqueline and Victoria. Also surviving are his brother William (Deb) Alber; nieces Cheryl Mamat and Katerina Gilbertson; and many in-laws and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Adela Alber. A memorial service will be held at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 322 E. Washington Ave., Madison on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
