David R. Daly

FITCHBURG – David R. Daly, age 60, a life-long resident of the Madison area, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at his home, following a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 21, 1950 in Madison, the son of Michael and Josephine (Brewer) Daly. David was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, loved fishing, hunting, camping and just being outdoors. He loved to cook, taking great pride in providing special meals during the holidays for family and friends. David worked in the flooring industry for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife Carol, of Fitchburg; three children, Shawn, David, Jr., and Shannon Daly, all of Fitchburg; two granddaughters, Tiffany and Courtney Bambrough; two sisters, Marilyn Zimmerman and Kathleen Sharp; four brothers, Jerome “JC” (Sharon) Burkeland, Loren (Teresa) Burkeland, Christopher Burkeland, and Joseph Burkeland; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Daly and Josephine Burkeland; and three sisters, Barbara Trier, Judith Schehr, and Geraldine Zantow. A memorial Mass will be held at ST. ANDREW CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 N. Main St., Verona, on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Father William Vernon officiating. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
