MADISON/JEFFERSON - David E. Steinke, age 60, of Madison and formerly of Jefferson passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born March 25, 1952 in Black River Falls, the son of Erwin and Vivian (Bentley) Steinke. He graduated from Janesville Craig High School, Class of 1970. He drove semi for many years, traveling much of the country. David is survived by his brother, Michael Steinke, Jefferson; sisters, Karla (Dave) Carnes, Jefferson, Darcey (Steve) Hein, Jefferson, and Rhonda (Art) Kracht, Manitowoc; step-daughters, Melissa Hill , Heather Rusch, and their mother, Sandy; nieces and nephews, Doug (Kris) Steinke, Craig (Rachel) Steinke, Colin Steinke, Andy (Roxie) Haas, Erin (Steve) Haas-Behnke, Eric Haas, Emily Hein, Stephanie Hein, and Jacob Acker; three great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Matthew Steinke. Private family services will be held at a later date.
