Darlene D. Williams

MADISON - On Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Darlene D. Williams, was peacefully called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 71. She was born in Madison on Jan. 26, 1942, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Golder) Unterseher. Following her graduation from Madison East High School, class of 1960, Darlene attended MATC where she obtained her nursing degree. Darlene married Karl Williams on Dec. 24, 1959, in Baltimore, Md. Karl and Darlene moved to Madison where Karl began his career with the U.S. Post Office and Darlene began her career at Central Colony, where she worked for many years. Darlene is survived by two children, Gregg and Melissa Williams, both of Madison; granddaughter, Kimberly Vilhauer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; sisters, Bonnie (Kenneth) Griffin and Sharon (Gabriel) Grosz; brother, Robert Unterseher; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl, on Feb. 13, 2013; and her parents. A Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held at CITY CHURCH, 4909 E. Buckeye Road, Madison, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joel Alberti officiating. Private inurnment at Roselawn Memorial Park will be held later. Visitation will be held at CITY CHURCH on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The family wishes to thank the staff of Meriter and UW Hospital for their care of Darlene. We also would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare and friends from Heartland and Southern Care. A special thank you to Dr. Paul Nemovitz, who went above and beyond the call of duty in his care for Darlene. Thank you to special friend Gayle Zinda, for walking with Darlene as far as she could on her journey home, and for her unending support to the family. Thank you to Faith Homes and City Church, special friends who helped prepare Darlene for her journey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Darlene's name to Faith Homes, 2820 Eshcol Ave., Zion, IL 60099 or City Church. Darlene's love for creation was only surpassed by her love for the Creator. Darlene is finally "home" in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
