Daniel C. Stumpf, age 72 of Madison, passed away on April 13, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg from a long illness. He was born on April 28, 1952, in Madison, the son of Carl and Mary Stumpf.
He graduated from Madison East High School in 1971, where he lettered in many sports. Dan worked in the insurance industry. He also worked for Waukesha Cherry-Burrel, in Delavan, Wis. After retiring from Waukesha Cherry-Burrel, he worked at the Madison Municipal Airport as a Sky Cap. He loved playing golf, playing classical guitar, art drawing, Jigsaw puzzles, and was a life-long Badger fan.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Stumpf, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Stumpf; his brother, David (Chong Sok); sister, Sheryl (Jeff) Vance; uncle, Tom (Sue) Aldrich; nephews, Todd Stumpf and Jacob (Rebecca) Vance; niece, Tami Stumpf; and great nieces, Eleanor and Lillian Vance.
Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., Madison. with a visitation at the church from 9:30 am until the time of mass.
The family would like to thank Agrace home care staff, Agrace Hospice Care Center, St. Marys Hospital, and Dr. Thompson at SSM/Dean Clinic in Waunakee, for their loving care and support. Also want to thank Father Michael Tarigopula and Father Patrick Norris for their prayers and support.
