WAUZEKA - Dale Lloyd Lenz, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 surrounded by his family. He was born June 2, 1926 in rural Wauzeka, the son of William and Amelia (Rose) Lenz. He attended Gays Mills Schools, graduating in 1946. He married Doreen Kelly on September 21, 1946 in Wauzeka. Together they farmed in rural Wauzeka their entire lives before retiring in 1985. Dale was Wauzeka Village President for twelve years and town chairman and school board member for twenty years. Dale was very active while Village President acquiring grants for a new Fire Station along with Wauzeka Township, a new water tower, updated the boat landing, a Village Housing Grant. and updated sewer and did many street improvements. Dale and Doreen were elected Outstanding Farmers in 1961. Dale was a member of the Wauzeka Lions Club, Masonic Lodge #8, 4-H Leader, ASC member, PMA Director, NDA and Farm Bureau Member. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, and choir. Dale enjoyed dancing, playing cards, watching sports, including the Packers, and discussing politics. He will be fondly remembered by his family for his singing in the barn. Dale is survived by his wife Doreen, of Wauzeka; his four children, Rhonda (Kenneth) Kazda, of Granby, CO, Karen Ward, of Wauzeka, Gloria (Allan) Bunders, of Wauzeka, and Dale (Mary) Lenz, of Holmen; three brothers, Charles (Cleo) Lenz of Tomah, William (Bern) Lenz, of Fond du Lac, and George (Erla) Lenz, of Manitowoc; two sisters, Gert Koecke, of Prairie Du Chien, and Dolores (Karl) Mockrud, of Aberdeen, MS; six grandsons; five granddaughters; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Beverly Kelley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including lifelong friends Gib and Jenne Bunders, of Wauzeka. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother-in-law, Marion Kelly. Funeral services will be held at Century Hall in Wauzeka, on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Joel Onies and Pastor Paul Graham officiating. A Masonic service will begin at 10 a.m. with visitation to follow until the time of service. Following the committal service at the Wauzeka Cemetery, a celebration of Dale’s life will be held at Century Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Memorial Hospital Hospice.
