Cynthia K. "Cindy" Miser, 60, of Janesville, died on Monday, June 8, 2015, at UW Hospital in Madison. She was diagnosed with MDS, received a bone marrow transplant in October 2014, but sadly developed GVHD and lost the battle after a recent eight week hospital stay. She never quit fighting. Cindy was born in Edgerton, WI, on June 15, 1954, to Harold and Lorraine (Donstad) Bartz. She graduated from Edgerton High School in 1972. Cindy married Bruce Pollock on Oct. 21, 1972, and had two daughters, Tamra and Catherine. She later married David Miser on July 9, 1992. Cindy had previously been employed at Bob Wynn Realty, United Way, and for the last 14 years at Seneca Foods Corporation, where she held numerous positions. One of her greatest accomplishments while in the Sales department at Seneca, was designing and operating a chalet at two different PGA Golf tournaments. She was later promoted to be the assistant to the CEO, COO, CFO and legal advisor. Her latest position was with the technical service department. Cindy was always willing to help her fellow employees with whatever they needed. She loved working with her Seneca Family. Cindy was involved in many groups including: Secretary/Treasurer of Janesville Wednesday Optimist Club, Treasurer of St. Williams Boy Scout Troop 539, and a member of The Harley Owners Group. Cindy was also a long time member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Janesville. Cindy enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Hawaii and the Inland Passage cruise to Alaska, antique shopping, spending time with her family and friends, riding on the back of her husband's Harley on trips up north and being a flag carrier in the annual MDA Tub Run. She was an avid scrap booker, sometimes going for weekends at a time. Her craft has left a legacy of scrapbooks for her family. Cindy is survived by her husband, David; her daughters, Tamra (Shannon) Burkhamer and Catherine Pollock, both of Janesville; her stepson, Dan Miser of Pewaukee, WI; her stepdaughter, Michelle (Brad) Montgomery of Janesville, WI; her 10 grandchildren, Gabby, Hunter and Jacob Burkhamer, Johnathan and Kirstan Pollock and Exavier Harris, Emily and Josh Miser, Grace and Emma Bussan; and her sister, Luan (John) Hanewall. She is also survived by many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to offer a special thank you to all the doctors and staff of UW Hospital and Clinics, especially Dr. Longo; Dr. Callander; Nurse Practitioner Blythe, Nurses Kristen and Holly and NA's Diki and Q. Cindy received phenomenal and compassionate care during her eight week stay. She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family and many friends. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at MT. CALVARY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2940 Mineral Point Avenue, Janesville. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services June 17, at the church.
