Constance L. Phillips

MADISON - Constance L. Phillips went home to the Lord on May 13, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare after succumbing to breast cancer. Connie was born on Jan. 19, 1940 to Elmer and Doris Tessmann. A lifelong Madison resident, she graduated from Madison East High School in 1958 and married Robert Jacobs that same year; they later divorced. In 1964 Connie married her soulmate, Neil Phillips. They shared 46 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2010. Connie was an avid reader and loved board games, but her real passion was Christmas, when she elaborately decorated their home and hosted many parties which eventually became known as the 12 days of Connie Christmas. We will miss her wit and unique sense of humor. Connie is survived by her sons, Jay (Melissa) Jacobs, Jon Jacobs and Scott (Lisa) Phillips; grandchildren, Hayden Jacobs, Nikki (Brad) Acker, KC Phillips, Taylor Phillips, and Lexie Phillips; her brothers, Ron Tessmann and John Tessmann; and sister, Helen Koppes. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Neil. A Celebration of Connies life will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at BASHFORD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 329 North St., Madison. Visitation with family is at 10 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m. The family wishes to thank the staff at Prairie Gardens Assisted Living and Agrace HospiceCare for making Connies last years so comfortable.
