MADISON – Conrad L. Meixner, age 83 of Madison, passed away at home on Monday, June 17, 2013. He was born in DeForest, Wis. on March 22, 1930, the son of Elmer and Elsie Meixner. He married Maxine E. Trakel in Madison on Dec. 1, 2000. Conrad worked most of his life in construction plumbing and remodeling. He loved to hunt and belonged to many organizations. He belonged to the National Rabbit Society, where at one time he raised rabbits for research. He loved working the earth which produced beautiful flower beds and wonderful raspberry patches. Conrad is survived by his wife Maxine (Trakel) Meixner; two sisters and a brother in California; many nieces and nephews; his four sons, Michael (Sue), Jerry (Clara), Thomas (Devon) and Robert (Jeanette); two daughters, Bonnie (Bruce) and Sharon (Bill); 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; Dahal Stiegman and Al Campbell, whom he considered sons; and the extended family of RJ & Josette Stiegman and children. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and first wife, Ella May. A memorial service will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Rd., Madison on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held later at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
