Clarence R. Meyer

MADISON - Clarence R. Meyer, age 86, passed away at his home on Monday, May 7, 2007. He was born July 28, 1920 in Madison, Wisconsin the son of Raymond and Margaret (Oakley) Meyer. He served in the United States Marine Corps for two enlistments from 1942 to 1947 and 1951 to 1953. He proudly served in the Pacific Theater at Iwo Jima, Guam, and the Marianas Islands. Clarence was a member of the post 15051VFW, American Legion post 501, and the American Truck Historical Society, Southern Wisconsin Chapter. He was in the trucking industry his entire life, both as the owner of C.R. Meyer Trucking and as an antique truck restorer. Clarence is survived by his special friend, Beverly Miller, of Cedar Falls, IA; a son, Jerry Lee Meyer, of Waunakee; one brother, John Meyer, of Madsion. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at the ALL FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4058 Lien Road, Madison on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with full military honors to follow.
