MADISON - Christina Kim Currier-Sager, born on March 19, 1977, died unexpectedly in her home on May 5, 2022. At the age of 45, she left way too early, especially for her husband and four children. She was also looking forward to welcoming their first grandchild into her family. Chrissie, known as “Tete”, was a mother to the dozens of young people who crossed her threshold. Everyone in her orbit was considered Family, and her influence will echo across generations and be magnified far into the future. For over 20 years, Chrissie owned and operated Big Stars Childcare, where she specialized in caring for children whose parents worked non-traditional hours. These children became part of the family, often joining in at holidays, birthdays, and other gatherings. Chrissie's home was the place where her children's friends gathered. She treated them as her own, and most called her "Mom". One of the pivotal moments in Chrissie’s life was meeting and marrying Tyson Sager. As her life partner, he shares her generous spirit by supporting and embracing her love of children. He became everyone’s “Dad” by default, bringing a playful spirit to every gathering. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Boris Frank and Kenneth Currier; and uncle, Terry Currier. Chrissie is survived by her husband, Tyson, four children: Noah, 23, Dillon, 21, Jordyn, 18, and Carter, 16, her mother, Karen Frank-Noll (Jerry Hughes), father, Kim Currier (Debbie Walker), grandmothers, Delores Hambley and Louella Currier, sister, Tauna (“Tata”) Lummis (husband Scott) and their three children and four grandchildren, who adored their Aunt Tete. Also surviving is Chrissie’s "Aunt" Dana. Chrissie and Dana grew up as sisters because they were less than 3 years apart in age. Her surviving family includes many other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tete leaves a large and loving group of Chosen Family, including: Brooke, Diana, Heather, Chrissy B, Esther, Tyler, Reagen, Brody, Josiah, Zach E, Zach K, Becky, and Jerome, among many others. She will be sorely missed by her beloved dogs, Gracie and Chico, and three cats: Hero, Ella, and Baymax. Chrissie meant so much to so many. She was a generous and loving soul who is already deeply missed, and her legacy will continue every time each of us treats others with generosity and compassion. As her great nephew, 8-year-old Ryder, aptly said upon hearing of her passing, "Man, she sure was a good Tete!" A celebration of Chrissie’s life will be held on Sunday, May 15th at McGaw Park, 5236 Lacy Rd, Fitchburg, WI starting at 2:00 p.m., with a meal to follow. Donations can be made to the Immune_Deficiency_Foundation or to a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses and funds to support the family with daily living expenses while they process their grief.
