Cheryl Ann Rompa

STOUGHTON - Cheryl Ann Rompa, age 63, of Stoughton, passed away on Feb. 9, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison. She was born on Aug. 29, 1951, in Richland Center, the daughter of Martin and Reola Parish. Cheryl graduated from UW-Madison in 1992, where she studied social work and women's studies. She was also an ordained minister. She enjoyed providing spiritual council, making and appreciating all forms of art, and visiting with friends and family. The sound of her infectious laugh will never be forgotten. She is survived by her three children, Veronica (Ben Mitchell) Brown, Basia Rompa, and Elijah Rompa; her mother, Reola; six brothers and sisters, Deborah (Duane) Parish Day, Dennis (Jody) Parish, Sonja Parish, Jeffery (Sally) Parish, Theresa (Larry) Nehls, and Timothy Parish; five grandchildren, Roderick, Ava, Sooraya, Esperanza, and Alejandro; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin; and two spiritual sisters, Deb and Rae. A Celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 625 E. Netherwood St., Oregon, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Cheryl will be buried at a private service at Natural Path Sanctuary in Verona.
