Charlotte I. Birkholz

JANESVILLE – Charlotte Irene Birkholz, age 92, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Huntington Place Memory Care in Janesville. She was born in Rock County, Wis., on Feb. 7, 1931, the daughter of Lester and Mildred (Richardson) Demrow. Charlotte graduated from Janesville High School, class of 1949.

Charlotte married James R. Birkholz on April 11, 1953. Together, they had three daughters, Lynette, Lana and Lori, raising them in Janesville. She worked for several years with the Janesville School District. Charlotte often volunteered at Mercy Hospital and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She loved to travel, especially to visit her family.

Charlotte is survived by her three daughters, Lynette (Allen) Stubbendick of Spring Hill, FL, Lana (David) Wisch of Chula Vista, CA, and Lori (Robin) Zirk of Janesville; four grandchildren, Matthew (Anna) Stubbendick, Allison (Jason Pearson) Perez, Jeffery (Kaley) Zirk, and Jonathan (Brittany Beggs) Zirk; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Kirsten and Samuel; a brother, Darrell (Jane) Demrow of Granby, CO; a sister, Janice Badertscher of Brodhead; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, on July 13, 1997; and her parents, Lester and Clarice Demrow, and Mildred and Lawrence Westedt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1618 E. Racine St.,

Janesville, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. Visitation will be held at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME, on Friday, November 10th from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
