Cathleen A. Blair

December 16, 1982 — February 15, 2016

MADISON Cathleen Blair was born on Dec. 16, 1982 to Ruth and Roger Blair. She was expected on Dec. 24th so they were glad she came early. Four and a half years later, her sister Deborah arrived. They have been allies ever since. Cathleen was always appreciative of the underdog, as was shown by her orchestrating a sit-in while she was in junior high school where four of her classmates were arrested in support of one of her male classmates being allowed to wear a dress to school. While in high school, she worked summers at the Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek and Respite Camp. She had a special connection with the campers. During High school she became active in the wheelchair basketball team. While on this team, she was very active and independent and was able to tour the United States. Unfortunately she developed a severe bleeding ulcer which required emergency surgery. This surgery left her in SEVERE chronic pain. Even while in this pain, she was active in politics, Pit Bull rescue, the LGBT community and environmental activism. Sadly, after many years of fighting, Cathleen finally tired and passed away on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, joining her grandfather, Joe Blair as well as the multitude of animals that have passed that she has helped over the years. Although she is gone, her legacy will continue. All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Services Madison (608)442-0477 www.866allfaiths.com
