JANESVILLE Carol Marie Hunter, age 89, died on November 11, 2016 at her home in Janesville. She was born on April 10, 1927, in Janesville, the daughter of the late William M. and Margaret (Hoort) McDonough. As a graduate of Janesville High School Class of 1945, she sang in First Choir and the Sextet, and enjoyed all sports in G.A.A. Carol worked as a legal secretary for Nowlan & Mouat for over 30 years. Then as an administrative assistant for HospiceCare for 10 years. She enjoyed her travels to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, Aruba and St. John, V.I., as well as many tours around the United States with Van Galder Tour & Travel. She was a charter member of Monterey Questers. Carol volunteered for 30 years at ECHO food pantry. She enjoyed quilt classes and, craft and greeting-card making at the Janesville Senior Center. Carol is survived by her daughter, Christine Motherwell; her grandson Brian (Christine) Motherwell and their children, Alec, Caiden, and Brooks; her granddaughter, Tricia (Josh) Ullrich and their children, Koen, Eiley, Adela and Archer; her nephews, Martin (Vicky) Hansen and Irvin (Shelia) Hansen; as well as many cousins. She is predeceased by her parents; her son, Mark G Hunter; her sister, Jean F. (Glenn) Hansen; and her brother, John K. McDonough. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Rotary Gardens, 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville. Cake and coffee to follow.
