Carol M. Peck

April 19, 1933 — May 7, 2018

MARSHALL - Carol M. Peck, age 85, went to her heavenly home on May 7, 2018, after losing her battle with Stage IV Melanoma Cancer. Carol was born on April 19, 1933, and raised in the City of Baraboo, Wis. She was the third child of Norman and Marian (Wing) Astle. On Oct. 4, 1952, she married David A. Peck. On Halloween 1955 they found their forever home on a small farm just north of Marshall on Deansville Road where they raised their five children. They were blessed with 64 years together prior to Davids passing on March 1, 2017. Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, and caretaker for many. She was an avid seamstress, making many outfits for herself and her children, especially the girls. It would be nothing for her to create and sew an outfit in a short period of time. Prior to her retirement in 1990 from GTE she worked various office and waitressing jobs. Throughout most of her married life, David would garden and Carol canned vegetables and fruit, providing for the family. She became a member of the Marshall United Methodist Church when they moved to Marshall at the young age of 17. Her church was an important part of her life. She was a faithful steward and made sure her family knew Christs love for all. She was very proud that over the years that she was on every committee and helped with many events. Carol was a longtime member of the Ever Ready Circle which still exists today. One of her last duties as a church member was communion steward which she did until February 2017. Carol is survived by her children, David Pete (Carla) Peck of Lodi, Peggy (Scott) Chapman of Scandia, Minn., Penny Dahl of Marshall, Steven (Sheila) Peck of Pocahontas Ill., and Norman (Sue) Peck of Marshall; 19 grandchildren and their spouses; and 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Alan (Rosie) Astle; her sister, Mary Rockhill; her sisters-in-law, Jerry Peck and Marjorie Peck. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David (2017); her son-in-law, Rollin Dahl (2014); her grandsons, Jason Peck (2017) and Alex Bouillard (2017); brother and sister-in-law, William and Ruby Astle; and brother-in-law, Ernie Rockhill. Funeral services will be held at the MARSHALL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 318 Williams St., Marshall on Sunday, May 13, 2018 beginning at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the service. Private burial will be at a later date in the Medina Cemetery, Marshall, next to David. A sincere thank you to the staffs at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg, UW Hospital and Clinics and UW Carbone Cancer Center for the care they provided over the past 17 months.
