RICHLAND CENTER - Carol Ann Cramer, age 79, passed away peacefully at Faith Gardens Memory Care in Sun Prairie, on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017. Carol was born Sept. 10, 1938 in Dodgeville, the daughter of Clyde and Hilma (Stalsberg) Ray. She attended Richland Center High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Larry McClaren. Together, they had a daughter, Lori Ann. She and Larry divorced, and Carol married Don Cramer. They built a beautiful home in Cross Plains, and opened Dons Place, a restaurant that has since been replaced with the current day Culvers. After selling the restaurant in the late 70s, Carol opened a gift shop in the 100 block of State Street called Alcazar Gifts. Carol sold fine china and beautiful home dcor, often making trips to Chicago to purchase items for her gift shop. Carol loved to shop and often looked forward to and enjoyed these trips. Carol was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed cleaning, cooking family meals, taking care of her family, and most importantly, spending time with them. She loved her morning coffee, baking sweets (especially homemade cakes), and the Green Bay Packers. Carol will forever be remembered for her love and devotion towards her family, excellent taste in fashion, superb Norwegian cooking, and her love of the Green Bay Packers. Carol is survived by her only daughter, Lori (Brian) Miller of Black Earth; a granddaughter, Ashley Miller; two great-grandchildren, Cory Miller and Connor Seitz; a half-nephew, Jimmy (Linda) Ray of Missouri and their daughters; as well as her cat, Sadie Sue. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Jean Ray; half-brother, James Jim Ray of Leaf River, Ill.; former husband, Larry McClaren; husband, Donald Cramer; and the familys beloved Rottweiler, Magnum. The family would like to especially thank the amazing staff at Faith Gardens Memory Care for their care and compassion, as well as the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their support. Per Carols wishes, no funeral will be held. A private burial will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carols name to Alz.org to help find a cure for dementia, which Carol suffered from for 11 years.
