DEFOREST Carlton H. Heise, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born in Racine, Wis., on Nov. 29, 1926, the son of Max and Nelly (Gehrke) Heise. Carlton was raised in Milwaukee, graduating from Riverside High School in 1944 before serving in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He married Marjorie Groke on Oct. 18, 1947, in Milwaukee. Together they enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Carlton spent his entire career in the industrial safety profession retiring in 1990. Among his many achievements, he served as President of the Wisconsin Safety Council. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Madison; two daughters, Sandy (Charlie) Parks and Sue (Dave) Plank both of Sun Prairie; four grandchildren, Jane (Chad) Malm, Joe (Kristen) Philip, Kevin Plank, and Brian (Kirsten) Plank; four great-grandchildren, Collin, Benjamin, Logan and Adelyn; a sister, Norma Erdman, of Oshkosh; two brothers, Max (Charlotte) Heise of Port Washington, and Donald Heise of Westminster, Calif.; many other relatives and good friends Rae and Louie Schubert. Carlton was preceded in death by his parents; and a baby sister. A memorial service will be held at LORD OF LOVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 105 Paradise Circle, DeForest on Thursday, May 5, 2016 beginning at 11 a.m. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Carltons family wishes to thank Pastors Jerry Ewings and Michael Willitz for their love and care, Dr. David Ringdahl for being a good friend and the staff at Oak Park Place for their exceptional care.
