Beverly B. Johnson

Beverly B. Johnson, age 81, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born March 31, 1926 in Eau Claire to Henry and Gertrude (nee Glomski) Myers. After graduating from St. Patrick High School in 1944, Beverly went to work for International Harvester. On June 11, 1945, she married Bert O. Johnson at St. Patrick Catholic Church. They resided in the town of Wheaton on the family farm and raised seven children. Beverly was a charter member of St. James the Greater Parish. She was actively involved in her church and the Rosary Confraternity, of which she was a past-president. For 18 years, Beverly worked at the rectory of St. James Parish. She was also a 4-H leader and a charter member of the Prairie View Homemaker’s Club of Chippewa County for 60 years. Survivors include her children: Judy (George) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Dale (Kathern) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Jane (Charles) Cyr of Elk Mound, WI, Carol (Andy) Hewitt of Louisville, CO, Alan (Rose Ann) Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, Jan (Scott) Coenen of Franklin, WI and Kathy (Mark) Eisold of Eau Claire, WI; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister: Marcella Gregory of Falls Church, VA; three sisters-in-law: Gladys Myers of Eau Claire, WI, Sarah Myers of Electric City, WA and Ruth Johnson of Eau Claire, WI; a brother-in-law: Jim Larson of New Brighton, MN; and her longtime, special friend, Gert Menard of Eau Claire, WI. Futher survived by other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, two brothers: Henry and Tom Myers, and a sister, Jean Larson. Beverly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Special thanks to her caregivers: Barb, Debbie, Liz and Nancy as well as Drs. Dexter, Anderson and Qureshi; and to Fr. Schultz, Fr. Klimek and Sr. Judie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th Street, Eau Claire. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Plombon’s All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Service, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave., Eau Claire where a parish vigil will be held at 7:00 PM. Further visitation will be held on Wednesday, at the church, from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
