Betty "Liz" Nyhus

Madison/Verona-Betty “Liz” Nyhus, passed away June 17, 2010 at the Don & Marilyn Anderson Hospice Center in Fitchburg. She was born in rural Arena, WI to Edward and Ann (Miller) Sullivan. Betty will be fondly remembered for the exceptional care she provided to patients at St. Mary’s Hospital for over twenty four years. Upon retirement she continued to use this gift, providing in-home care to those in need. Betty is survived by six grandchildren Randall (Anita) Hohenstein, of Sauk City, WI; Donna (Dan) Pechan, of Madison, WI; Toni Hohenstein, of Madison, WI; Jaclyn Nyhus, of Verona, WI; Teri Oimen, of Scottsdale, AZ; Ray (Kellie) Kluever, of AK; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband Kenneth, one son James A. Oimen, one daughter Judi Oimen-Dent a great grandson Joey Pechan, one grandson James Oimen and two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Monday, June 21, 2010 at All Faiths Funeral Chapel 4058 Lien Rd. Madison. A visitation will be held from 2:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. To all of her friends at the VFW Betty wanted to say, “Dance One For Me” A precious one has left us. A voice we love is stilled. An empty place is in our lives That never can be filled. God saw her getting weary And did what seemed the best Just came and stood beside her and whispered…….come and rest.
