Betty Hall Johnston

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C./DEFOREST, WIS. - Betty Hall Johnston, age 78, of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, died on Monday, June 25, 2007, at DeForest, Wisconsin. She was born on April 29, 1927 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the daughter of Lucile Bulluck Hall and Thomas Heywood Hall. She married Ben Johnston on April 14, 1952 in Covington, Kentucky. The great love of her life was her family; close behind was her work as a painter. She chose not to make a career of painting, refusing to sign her paintings and usually giving them away. She is survived by her husband, Ben Johnston, and her children, Sibyl, Ross, and Chris Johnston. A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin at Olbrich Gardens, on Friday, June 29, 2007, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
